LUMBER+Salt’s design practice operates under the Mazur & Co. banner, founded by co-owners John Mazur and Brooke Cantone.
Rooted in a shared passion for the unexpected, Mazur & Co. creates one-of-a-kind environments by reclaiming found objects, repurposing unique materials, and reimagining interiors and exteriors through a fresh, highly original lens.
The result is design that feels collected rather than decorated—layered with character, history, and a distinct sense of place.
Mazur & Cantone are the creative force behind some of the East End’s signature design destinations, including Rose Hill Vineyards, Terra Vite Vineyards, Harbes Vineyards, Main & Mill House, Anker, Minnow at the Galley Ho, The Hidden JEM, The Watershed, Shippy’s, and Red Horse Market.

Who we are:
JOHN MAZUR
John Mazur served as Principal + Designer of a Soho-based industrial and graphic design firm specializing in branding and design for brick-and-mortar retail companies. A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he studied Industrial and Graphic Design, John began his post-graduate career in Germany working with an international branding agency. His foundation in industrial design and brand identity continues to shape his distinctive approach to creating unique spaces and experiences.
BROOKE CANTONE
Brooke Cantone brings decades of creative leadership and brand experience to Mazur & Co., having held senior corporate creative roles in New York City across Fashion, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, and Brand Experience since 1998. A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science with a B.A. in Fashion Merchandising, Brooke brings an editorial eye and a deep understanding of how design, storytelling, and experience come together to create a compelling sense of place.

Drawing from decades of collective experience across retail, industrial design, fashion, art, branding, and antiques, Mazur & Cantone have created a lifestyle brand rooted in visual storytelling—where the unexpected mix of old and new, raw and refined, found and reimagined gives every space, object, and experience its own point of view.
